Monzer Kahf
Having
written over 27 books and booklets in English and Arabic, and over
80 papers, Dr. Monzer Kahf has focused on Islamic finance and
economics for over 33 years.
In
addition, Dr. Kahf has been both working and training people in the
field. His served as Professor of Islamic economics and banking at
the graduate program in Islamic Economics at the Yarmouk University,
Jordan, 2004-2005 and as a senior research economist at the Islamic
Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development
Bank from 1985 – 1999. Currently, Dr. Kahf has his own consultancy
and training business that provides consultation, training, auditing
and instruction in the field of Islamic finance, banking and
economics.
Dr. Kahf
has organized and conducted many training courses at IDB, IRTI,
commercial Islamic banks, and other banking institutions in several
countries in the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, West Africa,
Europe and North America. He has also trained people in Islamic
Economics, Zakah and Awqaf. He has been an invited lecturer/speaker
on Islamic banking, finance and economics by several national and
international training and teaching institutions and conferences in
several countries. He has also been a collaborating expert at the
Islamic Fiqh Academy of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC)
and member of several of its technical and methodological committees
on Shari’ah and economics.
Dr. Kahf
was awarded the IDB Prize for Islamic Economics, 2001 and the
President of Syria Award for best University Graduating Student,
July 1962. Dr. Kahf is fluent in English, Arabic and knows French

John was formally Vice President, Chase Manhattan Bank

Adriano Pace
Adriano’s
career boasts a wealth of practical experience gathered over
10 years within the derivative and capital markets in
London, holding senior positions in a number of major
financial institutions including Deutsche Bank, Credit
Suisse and UBS.
He worked within the Futures & Options department of Union
Bank of Switzerland, serving an institutional client base in
the UK and Europe. As a director at Credit Suisse, Adriano
continued to offer flow trading ideas to a broad base of
institutional and hedge fund client base.
As a Director within Deutsche Bank’s Global Equity
Derivatives division Adriano was responsible for sales to UK
based institutional clients. The position focused on
equity-based options and volatility flow ideas but
increasingly integrated with other product areas, notably
credit and fixed income markets.
Adriano lectures internationally on equity and fixed income
markets as well as many aspects of derivatives markets,
including recent trends in the industry. With his
long-standing practical experience, he brings an invaluable
background and perspective into financial training in the
areas of Derivative Markets, Derivative & Volatility
Products, Fund Management Trends and Portfolio Management
Strategy and techniques.

Mike Willets
Mike
graduated from Birmingham University, UK with a Bachelor of
Accountancy (Honours) in 1980. He qualified as a Chartered
Accountant in 1984, and is a Fellow of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants England and Wales and a Member of the
Faculty of Finance and Management.
Mike spent 17 years working with PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PwC”)
in London as both an auditor and management consultant. In
1993, he was made Director of the PwC Business Finance
Training Group, and has acted as a training and development
consultant to a number of industries in Europe, Asia, and
the Middle East, with clients that include Shell, Nokia and
AOL. Mike spent four years responsible for management
training for the Audit practice of Coppers & Lybrand across
the Middle East region.
Mike provides training and development to support
performance improvement initiatives at both Board and junior
management levels across a broad range of industries.
Specializing in Finance, Business Planning and Management
Development programs designed to improve the commercial and
Business focus of participants.
Mike has authored published articles on the subject of
Performance Management and has created a range of business
simulations and exercises, including the Finance board game
simulation called CashPlus©, which has been used

Paul Campbell
Paul
Campbell has specialized in Project Management, delivering
complex projects and people management with blue chip
companies such as the BBC and Reuters. Delivering and
communicating with high profile companies such as these
required a high standard of efficiency, team working, people
management, and training, which led him into people
development and training.
Paul’s work as a Project Manager led him into assigning
many project teams from many organizations and has given him
a profound interest in people and life skills such as
motivation, self-belief, fear management, stress control and
“getting things done”.
Prior to moving into management consultancy, Paul made a
major decision in his life, which was to prove an excellent
grounding for his career ahead. He moved to Saudi Arabia to
work for one of the world’s largest oil companies to work in
Data Communications. This was to be his introduction into
training and people development, as the skills he had, and
developed, were to be provided in knowledge transfer format
to many international employees and students. Using all his
managerial skills and love of training and people
development, he is focusing to develop his West End Training
business.
Prior to his move to Saudi, Paul’s career was athletics.
His drive and ambition, which is in his professional life
was born in his running career, winning many track and road
races, and achieving international honors.

Eileen

Dr. Louise Bell
Dr. Louise
Bell has excellent qualifications, wide ranging experience,
and a well developed skill set from her many years working
in psychiatry, philosophy and psychology. She uses all her
knowledge in her training to ensure she meets her clients'
aims. She is an experienced trainer and consultant, and has
a strong background in public sector services. She has spent
20 years in the health service and university sector, and
during the last three years she has been working as a
consultant within various professional services.
Louise supports her clients by enabling their personal and

Matthew Chapman
Matthew Chapman has been involved in the training sector
since 1996. Prior to this he held a management position
within the retail sector responsible for his team
development in line with stretching targets. Within this
role he was instrumental in the ongoing management of a
newly created Telecoms Channel.
Building on his Management skills and field experience he
took a position with a FTSE 100 company where he delivered
personal development and technical training to internal and
external clients. Outside his normal role he also
successfully mentored fellow colleagues.
From solely focusing on training he widened his skill set to
Territory Business Management where he was responsible for
the development of a portfolio of SME businesses in line
with company objectives. One of the many successes achieved

Mervyn King
After graduating in Classics from the University of Cambridge in
1969, Mervyn King gained over twenty years' treasury experience in
senior positions with the top names in the City. Subsequently he
became Chairman of the Executive Committee of FEL and following his
mandate in 1995 to design their Pre-Diploma Examination (now ACI
Dealing Certificate) he turned his focus to training. Since 1998 he
has emerged as a trainer of international renown in treasury, risk
and back office procedures, training staff from banks, IT software
companies and supporters to the industry. He is also a past Editor
of Forex-Inter, the official journal of the ACI.
